Position: Disability Inclusion Advocate - SEASONAL
Dates: Camp runs from Monday–Friday, June 23–August 15th, 2025. Orientation takes place on Friday, June 20 and Sunday, June 22.
Requirements: Must be 18+
Description: The JCC Camps at Medford is seeking enthusiastic and engaging staff who love to work with kids! As an advocate, you will be assigned a camper in our Open Hearts/Open Doors inclusion program and ensure a successful and inclusive experience for a camper with special needs. As the advocate, you will guide your camper and assist them as needed throughout the daily schedule during the camp day. Advocates are expected to be with their camper at all times. Advocates will have support from Case Managers and the Open Hearts/Open Doors Director when needed. A daily communication log will be maintained in order to ensure proper flow of communication between camp and the parents/guardians. This position is great for any individual with experience or interest in working with children with disabilities or individuals pursuing the following fields: Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and other related fields.
About the JCC Camps at Medford: The JCC Camps at Medford is entering its 83rd summer and is located on 120 beautiful, wooded acres in Medford, NJ. Campers ages 3–14 years old participate in a variety of activities that include sports, swim, crafts, STEM, nature and much more. Our facility includes 4 pools, a 4-acre lake, multiple athletic facilities, a ropes course, a petting zoo, a 9-hole mini golf course and more. Transportation is provided around the South Jersey area and lunch is served daily to all staff and campers. Staff must commit to the 8-week camp summer which runs Monday – Friday, June 23rd – August 15, 9:30AM – 4PM. Staff are also required to attend our orientation sessions on Friday, June 20 and Sunday, June 22. The JCC Camps at Medford is an equal opportunity employer.
