Job Description

The evening custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in assigned areas throughout the evening. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees, students, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while responding to various facility needs as they arise. Responsibilities Clean and restock restrooms throughout the evening (includes wiping down surfaces, and refilling soap dispensers, paper towels, and toilet paper, as needed). Regularly clean and maintain common areas, such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and break rooms. Spot clean windows, glass doors, and other surfaces as needed. Collect and dispose of trash from bins in common areas, offices, and restrooms. Monitoring and Maintenance: Conduct frequent checks of high-traffic areas to ensure cleanliness is maintained. Report any maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, electrical) to the Sr. Director of Facilities Operations promptly. Customer Service: Respond to requests for cleaning services in a timely and efficient manner. Address spills, accidents, or other immediate cleaning needs as they occur. Provide assistance to building occupants with general inquiries or needs. Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain a secure and safe environment by following security and safety procedures Supervisory Responsibilities: ~ None Hourly Range: ~$19-23/hr ICOM is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time. Requirements Previous experience in a janitorial, housekeeping, or porter role is a plus but not required. Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods. Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
