  • 3 Main Med/Surg Unit: 60-bed unit focusing on various diagnoses including CVA/TIA, COPD, and kidney disease.
  • 4 North Medical Progressive Care Unit: Specializes in cardiology with a diverse patient population.
  • 4 South Surgical Progressive Care Unit: Fast-paced environment focusing on cardiac and vascular surgeries.

Shift/Hours

Our RNs work a rotating 12-hour schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor. Graduate Nurses must be eligible for State Board Licensure and pass the examination before starting, or have a Temporary Practice Permit and commit to taking the NCLEX within six months of hire.

Qualifications

  • BSN Preferred
  • Completion of UPMC Student Nurse Internship Program or clinical transitions course preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for patient care across all ages.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and ability to establish positive relationships.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

  • Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required prior to program start date OR Temporary Practice Permit.
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
