Your Role as a Professional Staff Nurse

As a Professional Staff Nurse, you will:

• Deliver exceptional patient care with empathy and a passion for learning.
• Utilize independent judgment and effective communication to collaborate with physicians, care providers, patients, and families.
• Set the standards for nursing care quality and take accountability for its provision.

What We’re Looking For

To join our team, you should meet the following qualifications:

• BSN preferred.
• Completion of UPMC Student Nurse Internship Program or clinical transitions course preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for patient care across all age groups.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with patients and staff.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities related to patient care.

Licensure and Certifications

• Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required prior to program start date OR a Temporary Practice Permit with commitment to take the NCLEX within (X) months of hire.
• CPR certification based on AHA standards required within 30 days of hire.
• Act 34 Criminal Clearance.
• Basic Life Support certification.
