Job Description

The Junior Construction Project Manager (Telecommunications) is a training position focused on developing skills in supervising project teams, preparing strategic plans and budgets, managing project execution, and analyzing statistical data. The ideal candidate will have experience in technology systems integration, including passive and active communication infrastructure, and a strong ability to lead design and construction teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading teams responsible for Communications and Electronic Safety and Security infrastructure, including ISP/OSP pathways and cabling, networking, wireless systems, CCTV, access control, A/V, and other technology applications.
  • Support the design and deployment of telecommunications solutions.
  • Oversee daily operations of a project or specific project sections.
  • Identify and resolve change orders efficiently.
  • Track and manage project financials, including pricing and cost monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation throughout project execution.
  • Document and address project issues and site conditions.
  • Plan and manage project completion, including punch lists.
  • Prioritize, organize, and accomplish project goals.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
  • Research and compile submittals, price change orders, and complete project estimates.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including contractors, owners, and design teams, to resolve issues.
  • Communicate with external partners, including clients, government representatives, and general contractors.
  • Ensure timely decision-making, submission of RFIs, and documentation of agreements.

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications integration , with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing telecommunication and electronic security projects ranging from $1K to $20M .
  • Knowledge of contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Hands-on experience with installation .
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, project management tools, CPM scheduling, cost modeling, and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of design techniques and technical plans related to electrical and security projects.
  • Familiarity with standard deliverables and work processes in construction and technology integration.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize activities effectively.
  • Comfortable working in diverse team environments.
  • Reliable attendance at project sites required.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a satisfactory driving record.
